Treasury Has Prepared $4-Billion 'Loan' for GM

'The US Treasury said it had finalized a 4-billion-dollar emergency loan for troubled General Motors, the biggest US automaker. The department "today finalized the loan transaction for GM and funded the first tranche of 4 billion dollars," said Treasury spokeswoman Brookly McLaughlin. The loan is part of a 13.4-billion-dollar rescue package the US government approved this month for GM and Chrysler...The first segment of the bailout, set to be funded before year's end, was to provide 4 billion dollars each to GM and to Chrysler, the smallest of the Big Three US automakers. GM was to receive an additional 5.4 billion dollars in mid-January and would be eligible for a further 4 billion dollars from February pending congressional action. Treasury has also provided six billion dollars in aid to GMAC, GM's financial arm.'

Foreign Company Spent $1.4 Million in Third Quarter to Lobby Feds

'Swiss pharmaceutical maker Novartis AG spent nearly $1.4 million lobbying the U.S. government in the third quarter, according to a recent disclosure form. Novartis lobbied on bills designed to ensure the government has a sufficient stockpile of influenza vaccine in case of an outbreak, and that the government helps pay for vaccines for seniors, children and uninsured adults. The company makes flu vaccine, as well as vaccines against rabies, meningitis and several childhood illnesses.'

Money - not the will of the people - is the driving force behind this system.  This is but one of the many factions demanding its own share of the results of our sweat and blood.  Greed and corruption murdered the Republic and created the empire under which we live, but rightfully so, it will ultimately bring an end to this yankee empire.  Long live Dixie!

Feds Admit to Inability in Keeping Track of 'Bailout' Funds

'US government officials overseeing a $700 billion bailout have acknowledged difficulties tracking the money and assessing the program's effectiveness. The information was contained in a document, released Wednesday, of a December 10 meeting of the Financial Stability Oversight Board. The panel, headed by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, includes Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Securities and Exchange Commission chief Christopher Cox...The officials also noted the "difficulties associated with monitoring the use of specific funds'' provided to individual financial institutions, according to the document...Harvard law professor Elizabeth Warren, the chairwoman of a congressional oversight panel, has said she didn't understand why it's taken so long for the Bush administration to explain its plan. The five-member panel...has criticized Treasury for not saying exactly what problems they're trying to fix or how the investments will fix them.'

When the feds steal our money - I mean, when we pay federal taxes - we're expected to answer for every little bit of income and every little expenditure, yet no one in the federal government can tell us how or why, for that matter, our hard-earned money is being wasted on such policies.  The answer is simple: corrupt politicians setting up a pipeline of funds (with no strings attached) to those who have bought them their positions.  This is corporate welfare at best, though I would submit that socialism is a better description of this theft and corruption.

US Military to Arm Local Militias in Afghanistan

'US military commanders are planning to arm local militias to combat Taliban fighters in Afghanistan, the New York Times reported Wednesday...The newspaper report said, however, that there was "deep unease" among many Afghans that Pashtun-dominated militias could get out of control, terrorize local populations and turn against the government.'

The hiring of mercenaries is a sure sign of a crumbling empire.  In past meddling, the feds armed local militias to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan, and the Taliban and al-Qaida were created.  Everything the federal government touches - and not just abroad - turns into another, more deadly problem, 'requiring' more meddling.  The cycle repeats itself, and Southron lives and money are spent - all for the 'glory' of the empire.

Embittered Yankee Columnist Wants to 'Punish' Dixie

'The unnecessarily long and painful path toward the approval of government bridging loans for General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC has exposed a new threat to Detroit. It's one that Michigan consumers may want to keep in mind as they consider their expenditures, vacation options and even retirement plans. The problem here centers on certain southern states -- Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia and, in particular, Alabama -- where certain bone-headed senators seem to have forgotten that the Civil War [sic] ended, with the appropriate outcome, almost 150 years ago...Apparently Alabama is quite a tourist destination for Michigan residents, so perhaps they will want to find other places to spend their hard-earned dollars. The southern state is also heavily favored by retirees from Michigan, but maybe that could change, too.'

Assuming that this individual was not already bitter out of 'virtue' of being a yankee, he has become (further) embittered by the fact that politicians from Southron States hindered the 'holy panacea' - the so-called 'bailout' for automakers.  My goodness, please do excuse us Southrons for being just about the only ones left in this dying empire who still believe in inalienable, God-given rights and limited government.  Oh yes, please do excuse us for possessing the moral fibre to reject the worship of money, the state, politicians, and socialist 'cure-alls.'  You see, folks, in our ancestors' time and today, the Southron nation has always been the last true bulwark against this evil and nonsense.  This individual notes 'our' scalawags and the big-government programmes they've forced upon us here in Dixie, but that's precisely what makes them scalawags; after all, they've learned from the 'best' up north!

There are, however, two things about which this fellow is correct.  First, the northern States and their federal government can keep the blood money they call 'aid.'  We never have and never will need it, as we Southrons know how to take care of ourselves without the nanny state's 'help.'  He also recommends that Michigan residents no longer visit or retiree in Alabama, but why stop there?  In order to truly 'punish' us, all yankees from the other States and other outsiders hostile to our ways should refrain from stepping foot in any of the sovereign States of the Southland.  Better yet, those already here ought to leave, too - you know, just to make sure we 'suffer.'  Good Lord, what would Dixie be like without these invaders and occupiers?  I know - we'll be free!  My friends, we still are that bulwark I mentioned, but it's, to say the least, still very much under attack.  That will only continue to further be the case.  In order to see to it that it doesn't collapse - in order for the Southron People to survive and prosper - we need the independent nation-state denied us for so very long.  In the meantime, let us all do what we can to make sure our enemies make good on this 'terrible' threat.

Article: 'Central Planning, Regionalism and Consolidation'

'Alexander Stephens was noted for his wisdom and intellect. In his words are insights and lessons that apply to us today. In his time, the word ‘consolidation’ was used. The modern term is ‘centralization’ or ‘central planning’. The growing centralization of government agencies is a sign that liberty is decreasing and despotism is increasing on a daily basis.'

Obama to 'Stay the Course' (and Then Some) in Economy, Furthering Collapse

'Barack Obama is expected to spend so much propping up the world's biggest economy in 2009 that the national debt will balloon by an astonishing $2 trillion (£1.36 billion). It is $2 trillion that the US Government will try to fund by selling Treasury bonds...Many economists, think-tanks and independent financial watchdogs believe that the combined cost of industry bailouts, soaring unemployment benefits, declining tax revenues, new fiscal stimulus packages and the $500 billion public infrastructure splurge will stymie Mr Obama's plans to overhaul the American healthcare system and invest billions in alternative energy...America is already estimated to have a $12 trillion debt pile - roughly 70 per cent of gross domestic product. America's annual deficit has now hit the highest level since the Second World War, running at an equivalent of about 7 per cent of GDP, surpassing the previous record in the early Reagan years of 6.5 per cent.'

Pat Buchan: 'George W. Bush, Protectionist'

“I’ve abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system,” President Bush told CNN, defending his offer of $17 billion in loans to the Big Three “to make sure the economy doesn’t collapse.” ... Bush may believe he has sinned against free-market principles, but he is following the path of his great free-market predecessor. Ronald Reagan, too, was not prepared to see Japan take down the U.S. auto industry, or steel industry, or computer chip industry, or Harley-Davidson.'

Normally I love Pat. But here he gets it totally wrong.

First of all, Bush's statement he is abandoning free-market principles to somehow "save" the free-market is ridiculous. No government can "save" the free-market except by staying out of it. Any time government interferes in the market it screws things up.

Secondly, Ronald Reagan was not at all a "great free-market predecessor." Under Reagan the government ballooned. There was nothing free-market about Reagan except for his rhetoric.

And thirdly, it is not foreign countries which "take down" US industries - it is the government that does that. By regulating, favouring this and that company over its rivals, destroying the dollar, unbalancing the market and stealing nearly half of the peoples' money from them... this is how government destroys industries. Japan or China are not the threat to our industries... Washington, DC is.

Article: 'Secrets of the bailout'

'On October 13, Neel Kashkari, an interim assistant secretary of the U.S. Treasury, sought to ease concerns about how the just-enacted $700 billion financial bailout plan would be implemented. “We are committed to transparency and oversight in all aspects of the program,” Kashkari said, “and have already taken several important steps in this area.” Four days later, the Treasury Department announced one of the first major contracts of the bailout plan: The Bank of New York Mellon would oversee the auction and tracking of distressed assets, one of the biggest contracts in the package. But when the department posted notice of the contract, it blacked out how much the company would be paid.'

Unemployment Claims Highest Since 1982

'New claims for unemployment benefits rose more than expected last week, the government said today, as layoffs spread throughout the economy, more evidence the labor market is weakening as the recession deepens. The Labor Department reported that initial requests for jobless benefits rose to a seasonally adjusted 586,000 in the week ending Dec. 20, from an upwardly revised figure of 556,000 the previous week. That's much more than the 560,000 economists had expected. That's also the highest level of claims since November 1982, though the work force has grown by about half since then.'

We owe our 'thanks' to the federal government for this economic downturn.  Government meddling has caused this mess, so who in their right mind would honestly believe that even more is the answer?  It's the answer for virtually every politician, as they are looking after the big-business interests that bought them their positions of power.  As I've said before, the 'well-connected' members of the criminal enterprise known as the federal government take care of their own.  Isn't it high time that the Southron People live in an independent nation, with a limited government that does not attack our lives, liberty, and prosperity every chance it has?

Clergymen in Germany Warn Against Materialism

'Leaders of Germany's Protestant and Catholic churches warned Friday that "money has become God" and called for a return to nonmaterialistic values and urged bank managers to be more prudent during their Christmas messages. Bishop Wolfgang Huber, who represents 25 million Protestants in Germany, criticized the strong profit-driven focus and "culture of greed" of individual bank managers and executives...Banks needed to give more priority to "sustainable value-building" rather than to short-term financial gain and hefty bonuses for its managers, Huber said. "Money has become akin to God in the current situation," Huber told daily Berliner Zeitung...Cardinal Joachim Meisner, the Catholic Archbishop of Cologne, said a banker was "the custodian for money that doesn't belong to him and with which he has to work said Wednesday. "It's devastating that this ethos can simply disappear and that people can trade with things that don't exist."'

Like the PalmettoPatriot, I, too, hope that y'all had a wonderful Christmas.  With this in mind, we Southrons have watched in dismay and horror as Christmas has in many cases been turned into a secular, materialistic holiday by others.  Though this news item comes from Germany, I could not help but find its content applicable to our own situation.  There is the Christian worldview of the Southland, and then there's the materialistic, self-worshipping, empire-worshipping, yankee worldview being forced upon us.  Linked to this, in the article one can also find a critique of corrupt banking practises, such as the fiat currency of the Federal Reserve - worthless 'wealth' that does not exist.  With every fibre of our being, let us resist this and every other attack on our God, on us, and on our ways!

Feds Claim to Urge 'Restraint' Among Pakistan & India

'U.S. officials watched with growing concern Friday as reports suggested Pakistan was massing troops to the India border. Such a move raises double-barreled worries: A possible confrontation between two nuclear powers and a shift by the Pakistani military away from battling the Taliban along its western Afghan edge. "We hope that both sides will avoid taking steps that will unnecessarily raise tensions during these already tense times," said White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe.'

So the federal government is 'concerned' by this?  Well its officials ought to be concerned, but these developments should come as no surprise, as it is has been destabilising the region and the world and continues to do so with its meddling.  Mr Johndroe and the White House claim that they want to avoid anything that 'unnecessarily [raises] tensions,' but don't the constant US military incursions into Pakistan and the backing of India do just that?

Article: 'Agrarianism'

'Agrarianism posits that the practices associated with the agricultural life are particularly—and in some cases uniquely—well-suited to yield important personal, social, and political goods. The precise character of these goods—and the respective roles of government, society, and individuals in procuring them—varies according to which school of agrarian thought one wishes to consider. The first school important to postwar conservatives is that promoted, in various degrees, by the “Old Whig,” antifederalist American founders....'

US Army asks for more cannon fodder for the Empire

'The Army needs to add at least 30,000 active-duty soldiers to its ranks to fulfill its responsibilities around the world without becoming stretched dangerously thin, senior Army officials warn. "You can't do what we've been tasked to do with the number of people we have," Undersecretary of the Army Nelson Ford said in an interview last week. "You can see a point where it's going to be very difficult to cope." Already, the Army lacks a strategic reserve of brigades trained and ready for major combat, officials said, and units being deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan are receiving new soldiers at the last minute, meaning they have insufficient time to train together before crossing into the war zone. But the demand for soldiers extends beyond those countries, with the Pentagon creating new missions that require troops trained in cyber-warfare, homeland defense, intelligence-gathering and other areas, Ford said. "We have five to 10 new missions, and we are already stretched now."'

Bush May Pardon Members of Administration, Other 'Well-Connected' Criminals

'When it comes to clemency, presidents have absolute power; Congress and the courts cannot overrule them. President Bush issued 19 pardons Tuesday, and now there's intense speculation that he might issue last-minute pardons to officials of his own administration...Liberals - and some conservatives - wonder whether pre-emptive pardons are in store for administration officials who pushed the constitutional envelope but who haven't been charged with anything. Nadler ticks through his list of what administration officials did: "Claimed immense monarchical powers for the executive; engaged in torture and warrantless and illegal wiretapping; they claimed the power to hold any American citizen in jail forever with no hearing, no warrants."'

In fact, Bush has already pardoned a number of individuals found guilty of aiding and abetting illegals and other wealthy, 'well-connected' criminals found guilty of such 'white-collar' crimes as embezzlement and fraud. 'Our' rulers are looking after each other; isn't it time that we Southrons have an independent country of our own, with a government that genuinely cares about and defends our rights, the innocent, and the just?

CelticConfederate: 'Dixie's Situation Also Takes Place in Cornwall'

CornwallCornish nationalist link

Click the link above, and listen to the audio files. Much of what is said, are the exact same issues that Southrons are talking about in Dixie. If you are not familiar with Cornwall, it is an occupied nation of the United Kingdom, and is located at the furthest southwestern corner from England, and directly south from Wales.

The people of Cornwall were originally Brythonic Celts, and much of that bloodline there remains the same. Though, like Dixie, the Celtic bloodline in Cornwall has absorbed other bloodlines. But, the only thing to strongly disagree with in the audio broadcast revolving Cornwall, is the "identity" issue.

I am strict about what the identity of a Southron American is. I have not completely established a standard, but I am very close in knowing what a Southron American is. I find it to be greatly offensive when someone not of our heritage, claims to be of our heritage. It is the same as many people who are now pre-dominantly White, claiming to be Native Americans.

I do not believe that birthplace completely defines the Southron identity. I do not believe even the birthplace and settlement of one's grandparents in the South, completely defines that identity. The "genealogical" aspect must be determined  by whether a person's ancestors were already established in Dixie, before the War For Southern Independence had ever occurred.

The "philosophical" aspect must be determined by one's social and political beliefs and practices. A person may meet all criteria for eligibility to be considered a Southron American, but it would be oppressive if that person's own beliefs and practices are actually anti-Southron, and pro-imperialist.

Also to be examined, would be the role in which that person's ancestors had partaken during the War For Southern Independence, and what percentage of that person's ancestors actually fought for, or supported, the Confederate States. This is where my own criteria is at risk, being that I am actually only 3/4's Southron American, due to recent migration of my great grandmother from England, who settled in the North.

Eligibility cannot be judged upon a single requirement, but by an analysis of all requirements that are presented. For example, I believe it to be mandatory that a person must not have political and social perspectives that harm the traditions, values, and sentiments of Dixie. An opposition to local rights, and support of centralization, would automatically void eligibility.

The reason for such standards, is simply to respect native Southron Americans, and the established identity of Dixie by the Confederate people and their pro-Southron descendants. Though, if permission is granted to allow non-Southron persons, or individuals born of non-Southron parents, to be identified as Southron Americans, the result would be an eventual complete "revision" of what that South actually is.

Those who wish to call Dixie their homeland, though whom do not meet genealogical requirements, shall have a respectable terminology for their allegiance to Dixie, while respecting the terminology of the identity to the native Southron people. Technically they will be deemed as implants within the South, but shall be given a respectful and positive term for their identity, as opposed to the identity of anti-Southron implants.

Phase-In of SC Anti-Illegal Law to Begin the First of Next Month

'The first phase of a new state law designed to prevent the hiring of illegal immigrants by government entities takes effect Jan. 1. Other phases that apply to private businesses will get underway in mid-2009. Over the next year and a half, South Carolina gradually will begin pushing all employers to use the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's e-verify program, a Web-based system run by the federal government. Employers put pertinent employee information into the system, including name, Social Security number and birth date. The system scans millions of records from the Social Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security and tells the employer if the new hire is authorized to work or if their paperwork and documents need further review.'

While the sovereign States of the Southland do not require any 'help' from the federal government, here we see the Palmetto State addressing the problems created and subsequently furthered even more by the federal government.  This, my friends, is the trend, a trend only likely to strengthen as this empire continues to crumble: the reclamation of legitimacy and power by the Southron people and their local and State governments.  Congratulations, South Carolina - let's not stop there!

Michigan-Based Auto Subsidiary Allowed to Settle Corruption Case

'A Michigan-based company has agreed to pay the U.S. government $1.7 million to settle civil allegations that it paid kickbacks to win a military subcontract, the Department of Justice said Tuesday. Spartan Chassis, a subsidiary of Spartan Motors Inc. of Charlotte, allegedly paid about $100,000 to an employee of military contractor Force Protection so the company would buy truck chassis from Spartan for use in building military vehicles.'

A 'Third Reconstruction?'

'At each of the defining crises in American history, a major expansion of federal authority was necessary to overcome a division between North and South that threatened the future of the U.S. as a democratic, middle-class nation. The division between slave and free states was overcome by the defeat of the Confederacy and the Reconstruction amendments that abolished slavery and established national citizenship for the first time. During the New Deal era, the enormous gap between the agrarian South and West and the industrial Northeast was overcome by federal programs like rural electrification and highway building, federal regulation, and federal social insurance...The non-Southern states, through their representatives in Congress and the executive branch, and with the help of enlightened Southerners, need to use the power of the federal government to put a stop to the Southern conservative race-to-the-bottom strategy once and for all. Call it the Third Reconstruction.'

In the above excerpt alone, this individual spews a whole mess of filthy inaccuracies (historical and otherwise), so many that I have neither the time nor the desire to address them all.  Haven't we all heard enough of this kind of nonsense - not just from this particular imperialist?  They wish for us to believe that everything our ancestors did and everything we continue to do as traditional, unreconstructed Southrons is 'evil;' that everyone on the face of this earth 'must' become a yankee; and that we would be 'helpless' without their evil, heavy-handed rule.  Although we were conquered and remain nothing more than a colony in this so-called 'union,' the yankees have somehow continually painted us as the scapegoat for, well, anything and everything possible.  Make no mistake, y'all; the 'reconstruction' of our beloved Dixie has never ended, nor will it as long as we remain in this empire.

'All' they ask is that we renounce God, worship them and their empire, pay taxes to finance their interests and ventures, fight and die in their wars, accept socialism, remain silent, and do nothing - while they profit, deny us our rights, culturally 'cleanse' our homeland, and destroy us.  The yankees want to know when we'll all become just like them.  Do y'all know what I'd like to ask?  When will they and their God-less empire get out of Dixie and let us live in peace and prosperity as Southrons?  God alone knows the answer, but it is our duty in the meantime to do what we can to liberate our homeland.  I am reminded of Michaels Collins in Ireland's own struggle for independence.  In the case of Ireland at that time and Dixie today, he was correct when he said that 'Our only weapon is our refusal.'  Refuse to give our occupiers what they seek to demand, steal, and otherwise gain from us; refuse to give them our consent; refuse to back down; refuse to be subjugated!  Southrons, this is a tremendously powerful weapon - please, use it!

Feds Lavished with Extravagant Gifts by Foreign Officials

'While Bush himself didn't fare nearly as well, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice raked in at least $316,000 in gem-encrusted baubles from the kings of Jordan and Saudi Arabia alone, making her one of top recipients among U.S. officials of gifts from foreign heads of state and government and their aides in 2007...From the same Arab leaders, Bush received just over $100,000 in gifts in 2007, the list shows. The source of gifts to U.S. intelligence officials is classified, but CIA chief Michael Hayden took in $8,000 in gifts, including a sword, fountain pen and silk rug, in 2007.'

Let us bear in mind that these are 'only' the gifts the feds have received from officials of the named countries.  I don't believe there are enough digits on most calculators to take account of the value of the gifts 'our' rulers have received from other countries, not to mention that which they have given themselves - at our expense.  In this time of economic downturn (caused by these very individuals), it's wonderful to know that federal officials have managed to capitalise on their positions of power by squandering our money and by being bought by other (hostile) governments.

Jim Rogers: Commodities are the way to go in a Depression

'Virtually the only asset class I know where the fundamentals are not impaired - in fact, where they are actually improving - is commodities. Farmers cannot get a loan to buy fertilizer right now. Nobody's going to get a loan to open a zinc or a lead mine. Meanwhile, every day the supply of commodities shrinks more and more. Nobody can invest in productive capacity, even if he wants to. You're going to see gigantic shortages developing over the next few years. The inventories of food worldwide are already at the lowest levels they've been in 50 years. This may turn into the Great Depression II. But if and when we come out of this, commodities are going to lead the way, just as they did in the 1970s when everything was a disaster and commodities went through the roof.'

Pat Buchanan on the US in Afghanistan

'Just two months after the twin towers fell, the armies of the Northern Alliance marched into Kabul. The Taliban fled. The triumph was total in the “splendid little war” that had cost one U.S. casualty. Or so it seemed. Yet, last month, the war against the Taliban entered its eighth year, the second longest war in our history, and America and NATO have never been nearer to strategic defeat.'

The Tapeworm Also Known as the Federal Bureaucracy

'None of us has heard our Senators or Representatives, when forced to speak about the federal budget in relation to number of federal employees, identify the total number of people actually on the government payroll. They always want to make us believe they are talking about federal civil service employees only. Well, here are the facts. There are 2,900,000+ civil service employees working in Washington D.C. and all over the remainder of the country, and in some cases, the extended world. Those are the folks our Congressmen usually want to make us believe is the total. But, they are leaving out a few others that we (you and I) pay for as well. There are 7,950,000 government civilian contractor employees, almost 3,000,000 government grant workers, 1,500,000 in the military, and approximately 750,000 in the U.S. Postal Service. That's a total on the taxpayer payroll of 16,100,000 federal employees and others we pay for every day! Now are you shocked?!...According to the United States Bureau of Economic Analysis, the average American in the private sector (us) can earn as much as $53,288 per year when we put in all the pay and benefits we receive. This is including all the American private sector … rich and poor. Federal employees, with everyone thrown in the mix, average $106,871 in compensation and benefits.'

Dayton, Ohio: The Northernmost City in Kentucky

'The northernmost city in Kentucky really is Dayton (across the river from Cincinnati), but one can say that about the Ohio Dayton, too. Though it might more properly be called the northernmost city in the southern Appalachians, due to the huge demographic influence from not only eastern Kentucky, but West Virginia, western Virginia, and eastern Tennessee...The Appalachian migration was in enough volume to alter the character of Dayton from a Midwestern metropolis to one more akin to the Upper South, as the culture and values of that region came to influence this area. Examples range from things as mundane as the popularity of country music, stock car racing, and vacations in Gatlinburg or the Gulf Coast, to foodways, to changes in accent/dialect, to the various forms of evangelical Christianity setting the religious and moral tone.'

This is a right neat article, one which I'd highly recommend taking a look at.  Let us always remember our Southron brethren everywhere - all of them.

Feds to Provide $17.4 Billion in Loans to Auto Industry

'The US government will provide $17.4bn (£11.6bn) in loans to troubled US carmakers GM, Chrysler and Ford. President George W Bush said allowing the US car industry to fail would not be "a responsible course of action". Carmakers will get $13.4bn in short-term financing from the $700bn Wall Street bail-out, and another $4bn will be provided later.'

Actually, the most responsible course of action would be to allow the market to correct itself by ending all local, State, and federal meddling in the economy.  Let us not forget the myriad interventionist actions in the economy and abroad, for example, deemed 'responsible' by Bush.  'Bailouts,' 'tax breaks,' 'government-subsidised loans' - three different ways of saying exactly the same thing: the theft and waste of our money by an over-centralised, corrupt, and oppressive government.  When the government and the 'mainstream' media - oh, please excuse me for repeating myself - express concern over the 'strength of the economy,' it has nothing to do with how well (or poorly) we, the 'humble servants of the almighty federal government,' are faring.

Instead, it directly relates to how fat the pockets can become of those who have bought them their positions of power.  We're to believe that the world will end if the federal government does not throw hundreds of billions of dollars to its cronies.  We must not be fooled by these scare tactics!  This system amounts to nothing more than a perpetual shakedown by thugs - in this case, the thugs of the government and giant, globalist businesses (really the same thing) - from which we Southrons must free ourselves in order to survive, defend our God-given rights, and prosper.

Obama's 'Economic Stimulus' Plan to Waste $775 Billion

'President-elect Barack Obama's economic team is preparing a stimulus plan worth up to 775 billion dollars in a bid to jolt the world's biggest economy, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday. Obama's team is looking to craft a package worth between 675 and 775 billion dollars over two years, but it could build substantially as it moves through the legislative process, the daily said, citing officials close to the situation...The plan, according to the newspaper, includes a tax cut intended to immediately inject the economy with up to 100 billion dollars, and some 100 billion dollars in aid for state governments...The Journal noted that a coalition of labor unions and liberal organizations are pushing to get the package into Congressional negotiations even before Obama takes office on January 20.'

Why to fear Big Government

I am a product of the only part of the US to be invaded, conquered, and occupied by armed forces of the US. My section of the US underwent ten years of the worst form of occupation by armed troops. Even today stories handed down within families, from generation to generation, and a number of books have been written about the atrocities committed by those troops while here in the former Confederate States of America. If you care to read an excellent account of some of those war crimes, I recommend a book by Walter Brian Cisco titled: "War Crimes Against Southern Civilians." Some of the crimes he writes about in the book took place in my hometown.

It seems to me that what we have is a Federal Government out of control. That means the constitution is being trampled, shredded, and maybe, as some claim, it is already dead!

For decades we have warned that a federal government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you have… including your freedom. And now it is happening. I repeat my question asked above:  Are you worried yet?

Feds Criticised for Incompetence in Iraq War and 'Reconstruction'

'An unpublished federal draft report depicts the US-led reconstruction of Iraq as a US$100 billion ($182 billion) failure doomed by bureaucratic infighting, ignorance of basic elements of Iraqi society and waves of violence there, The New York Times reported...Among the draft report's conclusions is that some five years after its largest foreign reconstruction project since the Marshall Plan following World War II, the US government still does not have the policies, technical capacity or organizational structure needed for a project even approaching this one's scale, the newspaper said. It found that the reconstruction effort did little more than restore what had been destroyed during the US invasion and subsequent looting...Partisan politics also figured in...'

First Southern National Congress a Resounding Success

'In his opening Charge to the Delegates, Chairman Thomas Moore observed, "We Southerners are well acquainted with the attacks on our symbols, our heroes, our heritage. This is bad enough, but it only highlights the deeper attack on our liberty, our prosperity, and our very identity as a People. An authentic Southern voice is suppressed by a hostile culture, and our elected leaders have either failed us or actively betrayed us. The U.S. Government no longer represents the people's interests; it represents the interests of the highest bidder, the big corporations and money power. We Southerners have been among the most loyal and patriotic Americans, but in sadness we must acknowledge that Washington, DC has forfeited its moral authority by its folly and its unlawful acts. Now the people of the South who still love liberty and justice have no choice but to withdraw their consent from this corrupt Regime. However, withdrawing our consent is not enough. We must have alternative, legitimate institutions to which we can transfer our consent. This is the principle behind the SNC."'

John C Calhoun on the theft of property by the Government Class

As we now see one class of favoured people (the auto industry) demanding the right to plunder from the rest of the population in order to prevent their own economic suffering, it is a good time to look at just a short bit of the great Southron political philosopher John C Calhoun's thoughts on the subject. Calhoun argued there are ultimately two classes of people in society: 1) those who use government to take from others in order to improve their own situation, and 2) those who are plundered in order to provide for the other class.

'If we suppose the entire currency to be in the hands of one portion of the community, and the property in the hands of the other portion, the former, by having the currency in their possession might control the value of all the property of the community, and possess themselves of it at their pleasure.'

The Law by Frederic Bastiat (audio book download)

'The Law is one of the most important books ever written on the uses and abuses of law. While short, The Law has proven itself time and time again to be life changing to those who read it. Walter Williams an economics professor at George Mason University put it thusly:

'I must have been forty years old before reading Frederic Bastiat's classic The Law. An anonymous person, to whom I shall eternally be in debt, mailed me an unsolicited copy. After reading the book, I was convinced that a liberal-arts education without an encounter with Bastiat is incomplete. Reading Bastiat made me keenly aware of all the time wasted, along with the frustrations of going down one blind alley after another, organizing my philosophy of life. The Law did not produce a philosophical conversion for me as much as it created order in my thinking about liberty and just human conduct.'

Northern hatred at South for stopping auto bailout

Well, the thieves lost round one of the latest auto industry bailout! And there is an incredible amount of hatred at the South today because the people resisted being fleeced any further to prop-up failing Northern companies. Reading some of the commentary especially coming out of Michigan these days one definitely realises that the folks there expect the rest of America to come to bail them out whenever they make bad business decisions...

'I mean that a handful of senators from former Confederate states could so summarily sign a death warrant for the Michigan economy. A bunch of self-serving Republicans who will now go around blaming the United Auto Workers for killing the auto industry rescue plan.'

Or, check out this...

'Festering animosity between the United Auto Workers and Southern senators who torpedoed the auto industry bailout bill erupted into full-fledged name calling Friday as union officials accused the lawmakers of trying to break the union on behalf of foreign automakers.... Republicans in several Western states — where unions are often shunned — joined the Southerners in opposition.'

Members of the League of the South and other Southern Nationalists spearheaded this momentous gathering of States. It took them three years of labor and planning to bring this to fruition. They had to determine the type of individuals that should become delegates to this Congress in addition to formulating five different petitions of grievances. A suitable venue also had to be selected for this gathering of Southerners.'

Proposed 'Bailout' Includes Pay Raise for Federal Judges

'If the $14 billion bailout plan for U.S. automakers passes, it will help more than just Ford, Chrysler and General Motors. Federal judges would get a pay raise, as well. The raise - an annual cost of living adjustment, or COLA - would bring U.S. District court judges up to par with members of Congress, who will receive an almost $5,000 boost on Jan. 1. District judges and lawmakers now earn $169,300 a year but are expected to be awarded a 2.8 percent raise next year, said Dick Carelli, a spokesman for the Administrative Office of the United States Courts.'

Annual Burning of Lundy in Londonderry December 2008 (video)

'From BBC Northern Ireland: Apprentice march without incident

The date of the parade was moved to the first Saturday in December
The Apprentice Boys of Derrys' annual Lundy's Day parade has taken place in Londonderry without incident.

About 1,500 Apprentice Boys and 22 bands took part in the commemoration of the shutting of the gates during the Siege of Derry 319 years ago.

The parade is one of the two main events in the Apprentice Boys' calendar commemorating the siege of Derry.

Members marched in and around the city centre before an effigy of the traitor Lundy was burnt.

In line with previous years, the Apprentice Boys have moved the march to the first Saturday in December to accommodate the business community but there are still concerns among traders about the impact on Christmas shopping, particularly during this difficult period for the economy.

The Apprentice Boys governor, Jim Brownlee, said: "We are quite happy to sit down with the traders to discuss their concerns and hopefully develop together an outworking of commemoration, trade, tolerance, all of that.

"Working together is the only way forward that's what we would like to do."

A senior police officer described the day as a major success.

Robert Lundy was a governor of city who advocated surrendering to the advancing troops of James II in 1689.'

Obama unveils 21st Century New Deal

'President-elect Barack Obama added sweep and meat to his economic agenda on Saturday, pledging the largest new investment in roads and bridges since President Dwight D. Eisenhower built the Interstate system in the late 1950s, and tying his key initiatives – education, energy, health care –back to jobs in a package that has the makings of a smaller and modern version of FDR's New Deal marriage of job creation with infrastructure upgrades.'

Of course, this is exactly the opposite of what is needed: savings, reallocation of capital and labour to productive sectors, and the exodus of government from the once-Free Market. Rather than take people out of the market in order to build government roads and rather than steal money from some people in order to give it to others, prosperity requires economic freedom. The last thing we need or can afford now is yet another disastrous New Deal.

Georgians reelect 'conservative' thief Saxby Chambliss

Some people have confused the well-being of the GOP with 'conservative values'....

What the Second Amendment is really for

Suzanna Gratia-Hupp's testimony on the Hill on what the Second Amendment is really for.

Wed, December 3, 2008 | link

Celtic Confederate: 'An amendment that would save us all'

I know this amendment will never be passed, but it is a great idea (in my opinion), and could be adopted by specific, various forms of governments, within the future.

What this amendment does, is protects our liberties from our own selves, by regulating our rights to vote. I am honest in my belief, that majority of Americans place their votes through irrational means, which becomes oppressive to us all.

For example, in the case of two candidates running for a specific position, I have come to learn over the years that people will simply vote for one candidate, without studying that peron's policies, because of the voters' strong opposition towards the other candidate.

This is immoral. And, the continuation of such actions, further allows the permission of evil to reign within our governing councils. I believe this is the main contributor that will lead to the internal collapse of the United States. We get what we put out, and what we allow ourselves to tolerate. We recieve what we deserve.

Our citizens have formed a practice out of voting for the lesser of evils, to oppose the greater evil. But, the only result, is that our citizens have slowly permitted evil, while almost never seeking to support a candidate that stands on the side of good. And so, evil only becomes our inevitable result.

Along with this, people also vote for the individual that seems to be "one of their own". Again, their policies are not studied, and Americans then continue to tolerate evil, rather than strictly protesting the existence of any evil candidates, which Christian Americans are expected to execute as their duty. Christians are not being Christians, and non-Christian believers of liberty, are doing their duties, neither.

Something else that Americans base their votes upon, other than policies, would be character, race, religion, birthplace, fame, or propaganda. The most important aspect is ignored, and the small minds of people take to the voting polls, to practically destroy our country, while the mindset is that they are committing a good deed if they vote.

My conclusion, is that there must be a new United States Constitutional amendment which requires a citizen to pass a basic exam in reference to economics, politics, foreign policy, liberty, local rights, trade, currency, and so forth.

I do not believe this amendment would be a violation of our rights, but rather the current manner in which many Americans vote, is actually a violation of our rights. The intelligent, moral minority, suffers from the presence of a less intelligent, less moral, less concerned majority.

While our current law is regulated by a person's age, and background, the new amendment will not define whether a person is "mature" or not, by their age, but simply by their knowledge, basic level of morality, and understanding.

Everyone will have the "right" to vote, if their background meets the requirements, and if they simply do their homework and pass the exam to be eligible to vote. As long as we allow the less intelligent portion of society to vote, the more downhill our rights and our country will proceed.

This amendment will be a threat to the mainstream Federalist Democrats and Republicans, because the citizens will begin to learn about the value of liberty, the consequences of lenient foreign policy, the dangers of Federal Reserve Notes, and so on. Unfortunately, that is why the Federalists will not allow this to pass at the national level.

People will begin to flock to such parties as the Libertarian Party, and the Constitution Party, in desertion of the Republican and Democrat parties. And, even if such parties as those third parties, then become infiltrated by con-artists and political gangsters in the future, the people will atleast have the "knowledge" to identify and condmen such political criminals.

All in all, this amendment can end globalization, Constitutional treason, and can restore local right and power back to the people. If towns would begin to adopt this amendment, and if state governments then chose to do the same, then the power of the Federal government will shrink, as the power of the people will be restored.

Is Obama a hawk or a dove?

'...Republicans are gushing over Obama’s national security team, and his anti-war supporters are less-than-pleased over some of his cabinet picks.'

Just as we have been saying all along, there will be no significant reduction in DC's aggression abroad under 'liberal' Obama. The War Party marches on.

Article: 'You are not alone'

'The incoming regime is already posing a threat to healthcare freedoms, educational freedoms, and economic freedoms. A centralized government, with centralized control is a threat to all, both Southron and non-Southron.'

Socialist Explanations for $1 Trillion Federal Deficit

'Budget hawks were aghast when the federal deficit hit a record $455 billion in fiscal 2008, more than double the previous year. That figure could double again in 2009, to $1 trillion, but even balanced budget advocates are saying that may be the price we have to pay to revive the failing economy. President-elect Barack Obama, at a news conference Monday, served notice that "we're going to see a substantial deficit next year, bigger than we've seen in a very long time." But he stressed that, before putting Washington's financial house in order, "we've got to first focus on getting the economy back on track. We've got to first focus on making sure that we're creating those 2.5 million jobs." While nobody likes a deficit, many economists agree that heavy spending by the federal government - on food stamps or unemployment benefits or public works projects - may be necessary to keep economies moving in times of recession or war. The problem is that this time Washington was racking up massive deficits even before the current economic downturn.'

The feds can continue to dig themselves (along with all of us living under their rule) deeper by expanding the socialist policies that caused this mess to begin with, but of course, they're only going to make matters much worse.  This system is so broken that its 'solution' to every problem is its cause!  Don't be deceived by the talking heads - there is another, much more beneficial, common-sense way.  We do have a choice, so why not choose survival, liberty, and prosperity?  Why not choose an independent Dixie?

Will Napolitano Be Replaced with a Pro-Life Governor?

'One by one, the [Arizona] Legislature has approved bills barring the use of state funds for abortion, requiring that prospective patients be notified of the pain their fetus would endure and otherwise making the procedure less accessible to women and minors. And, one by one, Gov. Janet Napolitano has vetoed them - sometimes the same provisions more than once in a legislative session. Along the way, the two-term Democrat has earned a reputation as a staunch defender of abortion rights. Since taking office in 2003, Napolitano has vetoed at least nine measures limiting abortion. But opponents of the procedure are hopeful the legislative blockade will soon be at an end. Napolitano is expected to join the incoming Obama administration as secretary of Homeland Security. In her place would step Republican Secretary of State Jan Brewer, an abortion opponent more in line with GOP legislative leaders...political observers believe Napolitano's departure could mean...tougher medical standards for facilities that perform abortion[,] stricter requirements for minors seeking an abortion[, and] additional limitations on late-term abortion.'

What about banning this so-called 'procedure' altogether?  Far too many politicians out there claim to be pro-life, yet at the end of the day, they're perfectly content with allowing the murder of the unborn to continue.  How many 'conservatives' claim to be so fervently against abortion yet stop short of condemning and seeking to end it altogether?  We need truly conservative servant leaders; we need those who will not merely pay lip service to their traditional, conservative constituencies for votes; we need those who actually have the courage to stand up for and do the right thing.  Regardless of who becomes Arizona's next governor, I hope and pray that they will be a truly pro-life governor - in their words and in their deeds - like all individuals in servant leadership roles.

Publisher Offended by Bradford Exchange Advertisement

From History Magazine, 'North and South Clash Again'

'Mr. Grosvenor said he became aware of the advertisement, placed by the Bradford Exchange collectibles company, just before the magazine's deadline and that he had to walk a fine line between generating revenue and maintaining editorial tone. But one of the contributors to the magazine, the historian James M. McPherson, said that the line had been crossed.

Mr. McPherson, a history professor at Princeton and author of "Tried by War: Abraham Lincoln as Commander in Chief," said that many saw the Confederate flag as an incendiary symbol of slavery and that he would have protested the ad had he been aware of it before publication.'
